Rise of the Empire eraRebellion era

Prille Baclaw's career with the Galactic Empire might have been nipped in the bud, but she went on to greater and more terrible things than she could have imagined at the age of fifteen. In time she would become the second most powerful Sith Lord in the galaxy—a galaxy with few Jedi to oppose her. Nothing short of a powerful love shared between brothers could destroy her—which was exactly what happened.

Biography[]

Imperial Dreams[]

Prille was the second daughter of Spencer Baclaw and Luryana Quoll. Spencer's older brother, Timras Baclaw, was a Jedi of the Old Order, and Spencer spoke of him only to warn his daughters about the evils of the Jedi and to make them aware that some people might find out about their connection to the Jedi and use it against them.

While Prille's sister Melany followed her father's footsteps and joined the Imperial Navy as soon as she turned sixteen, Prille was too young to do the same during the reign of Emperor Palpatine. She also hoped to join the Academy, and like her sister, she had a wide, strong build and was very tall for her age (and, in fact, slightly larger than the average adult male by the time she was finished growing.) She was less carelessly violent than Melany, with a colder anger that simmered below the surface. Spencer eventually bribed, or threatened, a lesser clerk to adulterate Prille's birth record, though, and she was listed as a year older than she really was, so that she could join the Imperial Naval Academy on Raithal.

Lady of the Sith[]

The Emperor died before she could join, but she still intended to follow his successor. When leaving Coruscant for Raithal, though, she and the rest of the group were attacked by an anti-Imperial mob on Coruscant, and she never reached the spaceport. She was rescued by Darth Trefitz, and renamed Darth Inferna.

She found Melany many years later, and called her to join the Stellar Imperium. Melany answered the call, and Prille trained her, as well as continuing her own training under Darth Trefitz. Eventually, the Jedi found out about the Stellar Imperium and Sith activity therein, which was blamed on Darth Trefitz, and Inferna killed him.

She never took an official apprentice of her own, but trained her sister and also had a daughter by a newcomer to the Stellar Imperial Sith—a Dathomiri boy named Welk. This daughter was Desa.

Secret agent[]

Inferna also managed to work her way into the Angwel Collective and represent it at New Republic Senate meetings. She took the name of Prille Quoll and managed to hide most of her background. Her true purpose was to cause trouble, play the Senators against each other, and delay New Republic action against the Imperium long enough for it to perfect its viral attack against the Jedi; a virus that attacked only midi-chlorians, making them no more powerful than someone not Force sensitive. She was inoculated against this virus and unleashed it on Coruscant by infecting her two-year-old daughter.

Inferna was captured and held as a prisoner for the "terrorist" attack, but she escaped with the help of Welk and they returned to the planet of G0-CVII, where Melany was killed earlier by the stranded Solo brothers. Inferna had fallen from Lumiya's good graces by failing to kill Jaina Solo (who had infiltrated the Cyalax headquarters), so Inferna and Welk went to where Jacen and Anakin Solo supposedly died, to use their deaths to lure Jaina to her doom. They discovered Jacen and Anakin to be alive, though, and both were captured and tortured by the Sith.

Underestimating her enemies[]

Inferna planned to force Jacen into such physical and mental agony that he couldn't help but call out into the Force for help, thus calling on his twin, Jaina, who was not infected and still had her Force powers.

Welk accidentally let slip what their intentions were, and Jacen shut down in the Force to save Jaina. Inferna, angry, finally decided to pull out her last weapon. She left Jacen alone with his own torture device - one that increased his agony exponentially the more he separated two Sith-powered crystals—and left Anakin to die, just out of reach, without food or water.

Because Jacen's water source was contained in one of the crystals, he couldn't take it to Anakin without activating the pain device that was targeting him in the Force. However, he did separate the crystals far enough to take him into mind-destroying pain, and he faced it, ultimately becoming one with it and able to nullify the power that pain had over him. He rescued Anakin, and Inferna burst onto the scene to correct the "problem".

Jacen commanded Inferna to unbind Anakin, but she instead attacked Jacen. Jacen broke her arm and stole her lightsaber, and when she tried to break Anakin's neck, Jacen killed her with her own weapon. Much later, when Inferna's daughter was grown and had captured Anakin on Dathomir, Jacen used the focusing crystal from this lightsaber to purchase Anakin's freedom from her.
