Copad Skirata was a Male Zabrak from Coruscant. He was born in 22 BBY.

Only a select few know of Copad Skirata's true heritage. He was born to Jedi Knight Mikos Argo and Bria Desirée, and also had an older brother named Tomax Argo; though he would never have a chance to meet his real family. Around nine years before the Clone Wars, his father was banished from the Jedi Order due to an attempt to sacrifice his padawan, Kai Darklighter, to the Koru-Kra Trise who were hounding him for a debt that he owed them.

Consequently, his father was forced into hiding after the Jedi claimed him to be an enemy of the Order, and sent a band of Jedi out to apprehend him. Those Jedi would be Jedi Knight Kegan Farlander and his band of Dark Jedi hunters, but their searches for him would be in vain. Argo fled to the gangster moon of Nar Shaada, where he would remain in hiding for the next decade.

It was upon this world that Copad's father would meet his mother, Bria, whilst she was on a mission to uncover a spice trade route that was making a booming business in the Outer Rim. Posing as a smuggler for the company at that time, he and Bria had a brief affair before she had to return to Coruscant. There, she discovered that she was pregnant with his baby. Determined to raise the baby by herself, she made plans to leave the Jedi Order. But then, the Clone Wars struck.

The Order was desperately in need of Jedi, and so Copad's mother was forced to put her pregnancy aside and bury herself within the war against the Seperatists. She used the Force to delay her pregnancy for as long as possible, but of course, she couldn't keep this up for long. A year and a half later, Copad was born. His mother found it very hard to cope with looking after her son and having to go away to fight, and so she reluctantly surrendered him to the care of aging Mandalorian, Nadaala Cefni, an instructor for the clones in the Grand Army.

A week later, news travelled through the tiers of the army that Bria had been killed in action by droid fire. In order to preserve his mother's memory, Nadaala named the boy after the Mandalorian word for "desire": Copad.

Copad would live with Nadaala until the end of the Clone Wars, where upon the aging Mandalorian would die of just that: age. He was adopted by ex-Alpha ARC Trooper Sergeant 036, "Thrix", and taken back to Mandalore.

[edit] Life as a Mandalorian

To start with, Copad found it very hard to adjust to his new surroundings. At just one and a half years old, he had just begun to take clearer notice of the world around him.

His growing Force awareness did not help matters either. Every new emotion was a fascination to him, as well as his growing thirst to communicate. This terrified his adoptive father - his Buir - the most. People had begun to ask prying questions about Copad's origins and how the Ex-ARC trooper had come to look after him.

His father had no choice but to down play the boy's extraordinary abilities, claiming that they must be something to do with his Iridonian genome. He also made claims at being the boy's real father, and that his mother had been a Zabrak, but she had abandoned the pair of them shortly after the birth. It was a shaky lie in itself, but Thrix felt that he could take no chances at his son's Force sensitivity being discovered by the Empire that he had once served. Even amongst his fellow Mandalorians, Copad's adoptive father found it very hard to trust anyone, especially after the betrayal against all of his friends who had been Jedi.

And so, Copad would remain blissfully unaware of his supernatural talents and would embrace the Mandalorian culture with all of his soul. To do anything less would render him dar'manda - without a soul. He quickly learned to speak Mando'a as his mother tongue, then would branch out to fluent Basic and little bits of Huttese. And of course, he picked up curse words from his father in more languages than he cared to count. He and his father would remain on Mandalore for over a decade, where his father would recieve treatment for the advanced aging that had been his curse since birth.

[edit] Reunion and First Meeting

When Copad was around nineteen standard years old, his father would task him with his first, solo mission. It was a fairly easy task, but it would be one that would alter the course of his life dramatically. His father gave him a case of random belongings, ranging from holographs to three lightsaber hilts. He was instructed to deliver it to the Jedi Academy on Yavin IV for a young Jedi Learner named Kortos Darklighter.

He knew that his father had had connections with a Jedi family by the name of Darklighter during the Clone Wars, but upon quizzing his father about the package, he was told no information about his involvement with them. Feeling even more confused than ever, Copad swallowed his questions and boarded a ship for Yavin IV.

Upon landing down on the planet, he began to feel rather...strange. The planet was so...alive. Everything, from the individuality of every living thing within a close range of him called out to him, and he could understand their calls. The feeling scared him and un-nerved him to his very core.
