Chaya Trespar

Chaya Trespar was a female human Jedi from Bestine. She graduated from the University of Byblos with a degree in Psychology. She was discovered to be Force sensitive shortly after the Yuuzhan Vong war while helping refugees from Kelada. Jedi Knight Tam Azur-Jamin, who was tasked to help with the resettlement, determined that she was unconsciously using the Force to help them recover from the trauma the invasion of their planet had caused.

At the Jedi Academy on Ossus, it was discovered that her skills were primarily in the field of empathy, which is what had led her to a career in psychology. This empathy made some of her training, particularly combat training, difficult because she could feel the pain of her sparring partners. After her initial training, Chaya was apprenticed to Tresina Lobi, who helped her develop her combat skills further, but she still prefers to avoid combat.

Chaya was promoted to a Jedi Knight shortly before the Dark Nest crisis. Despite this, she did not often go into the field, preferring to remain at the Temple to provide psychological assistance to other Jedi as needed.

When the Jedi broke off from the Galactic Alliance during the Second Galactic Civil War, she assisted in the evacuation of the Jedi temple. After her arrival on Kashyyyk, she helped Tionne deal with the psychological effects of her injuries and the death of Kam.

When Major Tahiri Velia was captured by the Hapans, Chaya, along with Cilghal were tasked with figuring out if Darth Caedus had brainwashed her to serve him.
