[edit] History

[edit] Childhood

The youngest daughter of the aristocrats Arjuno Enda and Valla Enda, Chana was born in the shadow of her seven older siblings. Her eldest sister Mera became a respected politician, her brother Paro achieved a reputation as a great warrior, and another brother, Skande, was renowned for his good looks and voice, enjoying a storied career as a singer and self-described "sex god". Everything changed for Chana when she was eight standard years old. That was the year that the Sith came to Lum to use the planet as a local base of operations in the Jedi Civil War. Many of the upper-class Baquin families foresaw the Sith winning the war against the Jedi, and thus sought to ingratiate themselves with the various Sith lords who'd arrived on their planet. Arjuno managed to arrange an audience with a minor Sith lord named Darth Rakena, and struggled to come up with an offering to win her patronage. When money and property failed to bring any reaction in Rakena, Arjuno offered up Chana as a servant. The Sith lord agreed to look at the girl, but then burned Chana's shoulder with force powers and left without another word. After that, the Endas decided to steer their youngest daughter towards a career as a clerk in the Galactic Senate, and never spoke of the incident again. For her part, Chana would bear the ugly burn marks on her left shoulder for the rest of her life. Of course, no matter how much the Endas tried to pretend that their flirtation with the Dark Side never happened, Chana just didn't seemed to turn out right. She argued with teachers, neglected her studies, and generally showed a complete disinterest in following the path her parents had chosen for her, which was extremely unusual in Baquin society. Finally, her parents politely encouraged her to leave, and she was only to happy to oblige.
