During the war, he served in the unit known as the 31st Nexu Battalion, a battalion specialized in infiltration, assault, and reconnaissance. He was in the 31st squad known as Burner Squad for a certain amount of time. He served as the engineer/comms in the squad. The name "Datus" came from the word data, since Datus was the one that usually handled tech.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Born on the watery planet of Kamino as one of the clones of Jango Fett, Datus received training to become a trooper within the Galactic Republic. He was raised like that of an average, and did well in training. Though, he grew a talent for working with technology. This ultimately led to him becoming a clone technician, later serving in the 31st Nexu Battalion's Burner Squad as the engineer.

Garado Pandory Rescue[]

Around 21 BBY, during the Clone Wars, Datus served under the command of Captain Ralos Velense, in the 31st's Coal Company. Seeking the rescue of Jedi General Garado Pandory from Confederate General Grievous's ship, Ralos gathered a team of troopers within Coal Company, including Datus, to take part in a rescue mission. Datus and his unit, Burner Squad, served alongside Jekker Squad. The team with Ralos as lead used a ship to sneak through a battle started by Jedi Generals Hera Ragose and Yalg Glee to distract Grievous.

Once they've successfully landed and entered Grievous' ship, Datus took the lead and led the team towards Garado's location with the help of his special equipment. When nearing the hallway that leads towards the cells, Datus' team was met with a platoon of B1 battle droids. They had to quickly take cover as the droids immediately started firing upon them. The team took out a few of the droids before CT-7860, nicknamed "John," took them all out with a grenade. After dealing with the droids, they proceeded towards the cells, taking out the cell's guards. They entered the room, Ralos shooting Garado free. They then prepared to leave until Garado requested for his lightsaber. They found his saber on a droid commander leading a unit of security droids towards Garado's cell. After recovering his saber, they ran for the ship, the ship still docked yet ready to leave. As they made it to the zone that they entered the ship, they were encountered by a squad of droids. Ralos alongside John held off the droids as Datus and the rest retreated into the ship. John was unfortunately shot in the head before he had a chance to leave the ship with the rest of the team, though. John lost his life during the mission, but the team was successfully able to report back to the Jedi Generals and leave the battle.

Battle of Ansion[]

When around 21 BBY, Separatist forces invaded the planet of Ansion. The Galactic Republic sent the 31st Nexu Battalion to push the droid forces off-world. The 31st's Coal Company took charge during the battle. Datus served under Captain Ralos Velense and was joined by Burner Squad. While CIS and Republic ships fought in orbit, LAATs were deployed, making their destinations the planet's surface. Most LAATs landed near the planet's capital, 31st troops having to be deployed outside the city due to droid forces occupying the inside. Other LAATs went over the city to drop off jet troopers. Burner Squad joined the jet troopers, jumping alongside the 31st's Jump Squad.

Datus and his team jumped into the city's streets, quickly running to find cover due to heavy fire. Burner Squad and Ralos joined up with Jump Squad after the jump, pushing their way to the city's center afterwards. While making their way towards the city's center, they joined up with more troops. When nearing the center, they were met by a large number of droids. Datus, along with CT-5601, nicknamed "Zipper," was picked by Ralos to join him on moving ahead while rest stayed to cover fire

Ralos, alongside Zipper and Datus, made their way to the city's center, where the city's main building was located. Within the building was the planet's leaders, under the capture of a tactical droid, the droid leading the invasion. Ralos had Zipper snipe the tactical droid. They then continued to enter the building, taking out most of the droids, and freeing the leaders. Most of the droids being taken out thanks to Datus setting up detonators.

Republic forces that landed outside the city have now pushed through the droid defenses, entering the city to take out remaining droid units. Datus, Zipper and Ralos soon after met up with Burner Squad and the other troopers from earlier. They swiftly secured the area for any remaining hostiles before calling in a pickup and leaving the planet. Some 31st were left stationed on the planet after the battle.

Mission to Caramm V[]

Later in the war, Datus was sent to Caramm V after the dictator Ado Eemon subjugated the planet of Caramm V with a fleet of droid gunships, killing all threats to his rule and ravaging the world in the process. He allowed the Confederacy of Independent Systems to utilize Caramm's enormous manufacturing facilities during the war and supplied them with the droid gunships. The Republic sent the 31st Nexu Battalion to Caramm V to gather information on the total scale of manufacturing. Datus, along with his team, Burner Squad, were assigned to join Jedi General Ralos Velense towards one of the main factories to gather data.

After rushing through a battle upon drop off, Burner Squad followed Ralos through a secure trail towards their destination. As they trekked the harsh and withered environment, they saw many battles being fought from afar. CT-1021, nicknamed "Grapple," requested if he could go help the troopers fighting afar, but was quickly denied by Ralos. Afterwards, they continued towards their destination. As they reached the destignated area, they were pulled into a small firefight with guarding droids. They were able to take all of them out, but had to rush inside the factory as reinforcements started appearing. They fought through various droids as they pushed their way towards the main room of the factory. Once they made their way to the room, they took out any posted droids there and Datus got to work hacking a set of control panels. He was able to successfully extract the data they were looking for. Once the data was completely extracted, they rushed out of the building, Datus getting a holographic recording of the building before they had to leave off-world.

Personality and traits[]

As a Human clone trooper, Datus stood 1.83 meters tall. He had brown eyes, and he kept kept his head clean shaven. He has eye black markings on his cheeks to signify that he isn't only an engineer, but a warrior as well. When with anyone, Datus has been shown to be quiet and well-mannered. As a loyal trooper, Datus cooperated with Ralos, and obeyed the orders that were given to him. Over the span of the war, he has grown to see Ralos as a good friend.
