CT-2031/9110, nicknamed Sear, was a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett and a former Shadow Trooper lieutenant of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. He was cloned on Kamino in 32 BBY and was trained by Jango Fett to serve as Clone Infantry. Sear began to show unusual signs of independence during his early stages of training. His Kaminoan cloners considered terminating him in fear of future insubordination but Jango Fett himself stopped his termination at the last second. Jango began to train him personally and further develop his sprouting independence.

However, even with his exclusive training, Sear deployed with his battalion, the 31st Infantry, on Geonosis as a Sergeant. His battalion was assigned to destroy a string vehicle depots that are supplying the CIS fighting on the front lines. Though the objective was completed, nearly a third of the battalion, including their commander, was KIA. After Geonosis, Sear was reassigned to Commander Neyo's 91st Reconnaissance Corps and was assigned to take Muunilist, where he was given honors for rushing the enemy lines and gained the attention of a Republic Intelligence liaison that over saw the deployment of the Muunilist 10.

After returning to Corusant, Sear was offered an opportunity to participate in a new program of Covert Ops clones of the Special Operations Brigade. He gladly accepted and was transported to a remote world with other potential candidates for special ops training. Finishing three months of training, Sear was grouped with CT-1923/0023 "Morph", CT-2133/2033 "Hash", CT-2031-2981 "Sub", CT-2111-0234 "Dash", and CT-1532/1930 "Sanders", forming Covert 12. Covert 12 participated in many operations that any Jedi would frown upon including assassination of fellow members of the Republic Army. Sear and Hash were issued a pair of custom magseal later used by Clone Shadow Troopers to help them tail a Senator they were trailing. After the mission, the suits were returned with performance reports. Soon after, while attempting to intercept a Jedi apprentice traitor meeting with Count Dooku, Covert 12 was engaged by the Fallen Jedi and all except Sear was killed, who in turn gunned down the Jedi.

With the death of his unit, Sear was again offered a position in a new project. He was integrated in the testing phase of Clone Shadow Troopers, promoted to a Lieutenant, and was reissued the magseal armor. He was paired with Sergeant CT-4025/1111 "Dev", who was pulled from Advanced Recon Force clone ranks for exemplary skill, who became his partner for the remainder of the Clone Wars and the beginning of the Rise of the Galactic Empire.

During Order 66, Sear and Dev laid in wait at a back entrance of the Jedi Temple with a couple of regular clones and gunned down multiple Jedi that attempted to flee the massacre of the 501st Legion. Years later after hunting Jedi and clone fugitives, Sear and Dev were assigned to escort a hunted Representative, who was intoxicated in a bar and shot Sear, mortally wounding him. Sear died in Dev's arms before a medical transport could arrive.

Sear's death and the acquitting of the Representative caused Dev to desert.

Biography[]

Early Life and Training[]

CT-2031/9110 was cloned on the water planet of Kamino with the genetic template of Jango Fett for a new clone army for the Grand Republic. His batch received a special incubation process that stricken their loyalty to an absolute level. The rest of the batch became the extreme loyalists but were unable to think independently and make decisions without the constant aid of superiors. Because of this flaw, the entire batch with the exception of Sear, who didn't show any immediate changes of the extra loyalty process, was "wiped off the slate".

9110 was transferred to the batch that was later designated Shocker Squad. Shocker Squad and the rest of their battalion received personal training from Jango Fett himself. During training, his Kaminoan cloners observed an abnormally high amount of independence from Sear as an inverse affect from the extra loyalty processes from incubation. Fearing future insubordination, they decided to terminate him. However, Jango Fett saw usefulness in Sear and stopped the termination at the last second. Jango Fett personally trained Sear in one-on-one sessions in hopes that he could fit Sear in an ARC unit or at least a commando squad. Jango further developed Sear's personality and combat skills over two months. Unfortunately, Sear didn't have the required mentality to participate in any special forces units. Jango placed in back into Shocker Squad to finish his regular training as Clone Infantry.

Geonosis[]

Sear deployed with most of the Clone Army to Geonosis with the 31st Infantry. The battalion was tasked with destroying a string of vehicle depots supplying the CIS forces on the frontlines kilometers away. The 31st landed with little air resistance but upon landing, they were immediately ambushed by battle droids and a company worth of clones, including the battalion's clone commander, was killed. Sear helped drag injured clones to safety but was shot in the arm himself. A medic treated his wound and he resumed the battle. A captain assumed command of the battalion and managed to turn the tide of the battle and drive the droids back. Sear then escorted a small group of tanks to skim along the line of depots, devastating the structures as they passed by. After the completion of the objective, Sear and the numerous wounded were medevaced off planet and onto an Acclamator awaiting in Geonosian orbit while the rest of the 31st joined the battles on the main lines.

Shortly after Geonosis, Sear was transferred to Commander Neyo's 91st Reconnaissance Corps.

Muunilist[]

The 91st Reconnaissance Corps assaulted Muunilist with other Republic forces. While the more famed actions of the 91st involved riding speeders, Sear led his squad to push through enemy lines to reach their mortar positions. When his platoon suffered heavy casualties, Sear charged across a kilometer of artillery and enemy fire to a new position. Half his men died during the charge but his squad managed to take out the droid mortar operators and saved the rest of the platoon from death. Afterwards, Sear spent a large remainder of the battle holding a line on the perimeter in the city, where the rest of his squad was killed from a friendly fire incident involving clone artillery and the incompetence of a non-clone officer. Sear then personally carried his platoon's injured lieutenant over thirteen kilometers through a strip of remaining enemy resistance to an evacuation gunship.

Legacy[]

Personality[]

Sear has more of a relaxed personality compared to Dev, who was a stone cold killer. He wouldn't kill anyone that wasn't required by orders and let his squadmates perform execution rather than himself. However, if a target presents a threat to any clone or the Republic, he would gladly gun him or her down.
