Antus Ordo

Antus Ordo was the son of the Mandalorian General Dacen Ordo and the Jedi Lara Bindu. He showed affinity to the Force at a young age. He lived on Kashyyyk with his mother, learning the ways of the Force. He declared war on the Mandalorians and established the new empire known as New Moon. He also finished his training with the Jedi Council and became a Jedi Knight. He never fully joined the Jedi Order but instead followed the path of the Mandalorian.

[edit] Early life

Antus was born nearly four years after the Jedi Civil War. His father died when he was young and he never got to know him. Instead he was raised by his mother on their homeworld of Ordo. He was the child of two Force-sensitives and was very strong in the force. His mother, who was a retired Jedi, saw this, but was reluctant to train him, fearing he would follow his father's path. However, she also saw how Ordo would need a strong leader. When he turned five she began his training and was impressed at how quickly he grew in the force. When he grew a little older he also began his mandalorian training at the hands of one of the men in their town. His uncle Canderous was reestablishing the clans under the Ordo banner and began retaking mandalorian worlds. One of the first to be conquered was Ordo because it was Canderous's home world. He then began drafting new mandalorians into his army. At this time Antus was the most promising of the young Mandalorians. His mother did not want him to join Canderous because she feared that he would learn the truth about his father's death. That his father had died in a duel with Canderous. So she took him and left offworld and they traveled to Kashyykk where she finished his jedi training. There they gained the trust of the Wookiees and Antus befriended a young Wookiee by the name of Kreyyer. When he turned fifteen his mother died. Although he was strong in the force he never completed his training. He was adopted into Kreyyer's family and was raised by them. By this time he and Kreyyer had become the best of friends and hunted together in the shadowlands. When he turned eighteen a small group of slavers known as New Moon Corp. invaded their village and took many of them captive including, himself and Kreyyer.

They were brought aboard New Moon Corp.'s transport ship and taken to Nal Hutta to work as slaves in the spice mines. New Moon Corp. was run by a Hutt by the name of Tassek. In addition to controlling New Moon Corp., which provided him with slaves to work in his mine, Tassek was in charge of several spice smuggling rings on Nal Hutta. When they arrived they were sent to work Tassek's mines. After about six months on Nal Hutta, Antus and Kreyyer began plotting an escape. They succeded in their plan and in their escape they killed Tassek the Hutt. They left the planet aboard one of Tassek's ships the ShadowStar. In their escape offworld they had to fight off Tassek's men and destroyed his spice compound.

After escaping Nal Hutta the pair docked at Nar Shada where they found work. They were working forThe Exchange as smugglers. They did smuggling runs from Nar Shaddaa to Corellia and from Tatooine to Bespin. However one of Tassek's relatives discoverd where they were and decided to place a bounty on their heads. An Echani bounty hunter by the name of Jard Solus found them and attacked their ship. Antus and Kreyyer where taken by Jard to the Hutt who placed the bounty on their head. Once brought aboard the Hutt's capital ship they were placed into force cages. Antus summoned the Force to escape and saved Kreyyer. They went to the bridge in order to shut off the tractor beam and leave on the ShadowStar. While on the bridge they killed the hutt and escaped. Once in the safety of their ship Kreyyer swore a Wookiee life debt to Antus, meaning that he will stay by his side.

After escaping the Hutts yet again Antus recieved a vision through the Force of a new Mandalorian war. This war would be a civil war between him and the ressurected clans of his uncle. He was then visited by a Force ghost of his mother who instructed him to go to the Jedi Council to finish his training. Shocked by this revelation he set cource for the Jedi. Once he reached the Academy on Taris he spoke to the Jedi Masters there about his visions and asked to be trained. At first they refused because they were still rebuilding and had very few Masters. Jedi master Kel Varin agreed to take him as his Padawan learner because he knew the importance of new Jedi to help their order. Kel found that training Antus was easy. Antus shared with Kel that he was trained by his mother as a boy. Kel tought Antus about the force and after about two years he felt he was ready to become a knight. First he needed to build a lightsaber. He sent Antus to Dantooine in search of a crystal. While there he discovered the ruined enclave and searched it for clues on where to find crystals. He discovered a Holocron hidden by its creator that had remained after the temple had been looted several times. The Holocron revealed the location of a cave on Dantooine that contained the crystals used in lightsaber construction. He traveled to the cave and found a pair of silver crystals. He went back to the enclave where he built his twin blades. After his knighting ceremony he received another vision of his mother telling him it was time for him to fulfill his destiny and return to Ordo, but first he must assemble an army.

Antus meditated on this and traveled to Kashyyyk where Kreyyer had been staying while Antus was completing his training. He decided to return to Nal Hutta and attempt to capture a few flagships there. He told Kreyyer his plan, and Kreyyer wanting to fulfill his life debt decided to go with him. When they arrived they found that much had changed since his last altercation with the hutts. The remains of New Moon Corp. had been locked in a power struggle. Antus took advantage of this and seized control of the company. He restructured it into New Moon so that he can have an army to free his homeworld. With New Moon under his control he began to build a fleet. He freed the people previously enslaved by New Moon Corp. and recruited as many as he could. His army numbered at only 200, which he knew was nowhere near enough.

[edit] Encounter with Wei

During the time Antus was recruting troops a young force sensitive came to him by the name of Sima Yi. Sima was from the planet Wei and was seeking training in the ways of the force to free his people. Wei was under siege by their neighbors the Kantels. The Jedi refused Sima because they had sensed the Dark Side in him. Antus had sensed it too but ignored this seeing as this could mean potentional allies and trained Sima. Sima in turn taught as many Weions as he could and was able to defeat the Kantels. After which Sima Yi was named king of Wei and used his new power to supply Antus with more troops and resources. Antus's army now numbered 100,000, and with the ships supplied from Wei he had a fleet of 10 flagships. His training of Sima angered the Council and Antus was summoned to answer for his crimes. The Jedi did not sentence him but told him to bring Sima to be stripped of the Force. He refused and left the Jedi.

After nearly seven years of preperation he felt he was finaly ready to go to war. He launched a simultaneous attack on two key locations because of their importance to the Mandalorians as sources of supplies. The first was Ordo which allowed for them to gather more resources and served as a foothold for an assault on Mandalorian space. The second was Dxun; the Mandalorians had already long left this world but still had a working automated outpost that served as a communication hub for the entire system. Dxun was conquered easily as there was no resistance. The attack on Goa however was not as successful.

[edit] Battle of Goa

Antus had sent a fleet led by three capital ships into orbit above Goa and engaged the mandalorian fleet there. Canderous's troops had been taken by complete surprise and were forced to retreat to the planet surface. Leading the invasion was the young Sima Yi. After gaining control of the planet's orbit Antus ordered Sima to invade the planet; however this was difficult because of Goa's rough terrain. Sima invaded the planet seven times but failed because his troops were unaccustomed to the planet's terrain. He abandoned the ground assault and Antus ordered a bombardment of the world instead which Sima gladly carried out. After the battle of Goa the war continued on for nearly 10 more years. The war had left mandalorian space damaged and the people wanted to see an end to the fighting. Antus was finally able to force Canderous out of power by assassinating him. He declared himself Mandalore of all Mandalorians and ordered an end to all fighting.

[edit] Death

After 20 years of war Antus went back to Ordo and named himself Mandalore of his new order of Mandalorians. He began to rebuild all the worlds touched by the war using the resources from Wei. At first he was succesfull in making the planets whole again until resources from Wei stopped coming. He traveled to Wei to learn the reason and found that Sima Yi had fallen to the dark side. Now Darth Sima had made himself a sith lord and had made his planet independent. Antus and his apprentice Dak Solus confronted the dark lord above Wei. The dark lord had escaped but Antus was slain.

[edit] Personality and Traits

Antus was a bold but thoughtful leader, who never directly followed the ways of the council but never fell to the darkside. During the invasion of mandalorian space an enjoyment in war surfaced which forced him to question himself. Although his natrual lust for battle carried in his mandalorian blood he struggled with himself to be as faraway from combat as he can.

In addition to being a natrual warrior, Antus was a skilled tactician and prefered to be leading a battle rather than fighting in it. This wasn't out of cowardice however but because he did not want to give in to his bloodlust. Influenced by this he studied the aspects of the force more than lightsaber combat. However this made equal to even the most skilled master in the force.

The name Antus comes from the name Antus Pinder from the world of the Elder Srolls who was a hero who helped defend Kvatch.

Ordo is the Mandalorian clan that Antus belongs to.

New Moon is the name of the second novel in the Twilight series.
