Anon was the only planet located in the Anon system of the Mid Rim, and the largest and most populated in the Anrom sector. Located on a major galactic trade route, it was a major trading location and an exporter of organic goods.[2]
During the war, the Sith Empire gained control of the world over the Galactic Republic. Throughout the war, the two factions clashed multiple times for control over the trading hotspot, however in 3,956 BBY, the Sith Empire led a massive invasion of the then-Republic-controlled world. The result was that the Sith would then continue hold the world up until the last waning weeks of the war, until a group led by Jedi Master Kavar liberated the world.[2]

Geography
Edit
Anon was a geologically unique world in the galaxy: a plasmic molten outer core surrounded an inner core, believed to be composed primarily of a nickel-iron alloy, with very small amounts of some other elements. These elements were found in abundance in other chemical compositions in the galaxy, but it is the unique properties of the plasma which interested astrophysicists, plasma which the two primary civilizations harnessed to supply clean and efficient energy highly valued throughout the galaxy. The plasmic magma "seethed and bubbled" from the center of the planet carving labyrinths of winding tunnels and caverns similar to lava tubes of traditional magma flows. Much of these abyssal labyrinths were submerged in great underground oceans, which were home to immense aquatic animals and creatures that were never seen on the surface. Large aquatic animals dominated these "underwaterways."[1]
Plasmic eruptions found their way to the porous crust of the planet, affecting geographic features there such as mountain chains and plate tectonics. The surface of Anon was covered by rolling grass plains, seas, forests, and verdant hills. A large mountain chain bisected the planet's only continent and divided the great grass plains of the north from the forests and bayous in the south.[1]
Society and culture
Edit
Demographically, Anon's 9-to-11 billion inhabitants were mostly immigrants or decedents of immigrants from the distant world Corellia, which was located within the Core Worlds. Like Corellians, people from Anon were often considered rude and aggressive by other cultures, as well as strong-willed and emotionally tough. Amrellians were a sentimental breed who preferred associating themselves with either fellow Amrellians or Corellians, and marriage with anyone from outside the Anon or Corellian systems was strongly frowned upon by more traditional members of the culture.. Marrying someone from outside the Amrellian-Corellian culture pair would often result in being shunned.[1]
Family was held in high respect on Anon. It was considered most dishonorable for an Amrellian to ignore their parents wishes or to betray their family in any way. Large family meals were common, and most households were a type of patriarchy, with the eldest male member of a family being the “leader” at any gatherings. Additionally, it was unconsidered unethical for a person from Anon to greatly trust or have a close relationship with any member outside of their own family, as, according to Amrellian culture, family were the only ones who could be wholly trusted.[1]
A notable aspect of Amrellian culture and society was the involvement and relationship between Amrellians and a galactic-wide criminal organization, the Human Mafia. In what was considered a stereotype, it was at one point common discussion that all Amrellians were in some way related to the Human Mafia, as the criminal organization was started and almost exclusively composed of Amrellian people. In a report, the Organized Crime Bureau once estimated that three-quarters of all native, “traditional” Amrellians were members of or associated with the Human Mafia, or closely related to someone who was. This report led to racial profiling by law enforcement personnel throughout the entire Anon system.[1]
