Alaric Kend-Zast was the male Doloy owner of the Miner's Daughter in 109 ABY.
Having come to Vedros IV shortly after the Great Liberation with an eye toward work in the tibanna mining operations in nearby Vedros, Alaric only managed to find work as a supervisor in a local processing office. He married a fellow Doloy who was on the plant's staff but, discontent with his work, decided to go into business for himself. The spouses opened the Miner's Daughter in 105 ABY.
The bar did not cater to the most elite clientele, but it did a steady business, and the employment of no-nonsense bartender Warda Grobb and tough server Jarv Chent kept out the worst riffraff from the nearby spaceport, earning the Miner's Daughter a reputation as a place for honest working men and women to relax. Alaric employed a variety of species, and his employees spoke well of him as a fair and even-tempered boss.
In 109 ABY, the Nightside Raiders leader Kilwyo Kesh came to the Miner's Daughter with a dozen of his crew. Jarv Chent recognized him and identified him to Alaric, but counseled discretion. Kesh's unsubtle threats to burn down the bar or horribly disfigure Alaric's wife if he didn't get good enough service kept the terrified Doloy from calling for help. Though he hated doing it, Alaric sent his attractive female Nei server, Fiducia Crassim, to serve the Raiders and did not interfere when a Human among them molested her.
When Renamo Kemset stabbed Kesh to death, however, Alaric joined the rest of the bar staff and patrons in their fight against the surviving Raiders. Fiducia bit the neck of the Human who had touched her; as he screamed and tried to shoot her, Alaric spun him around and stabbed him in the throat with a broken beer bottle.
Alaric suffered several broken ribs and a concussion from the fight, but recovered quickly. Tariun Sakaros sent a Centurion to keep an eye on the bar and protect it from any Raider reprisals. After the Raiders were decimated, the Miner's Daughter experienced a small side business in tourism, as citizens of the Golden Empire came to see the spot where the infamous Kilwyo Kesh had died.
