Adena Qel-Droma

Adena Qel-Droma was a Jedi Master during the days of the ancient Jedi Order, all estimates suggesting that she existed before the major Alsakan Crisis of 13,000 BBY. She was an ancestor of Ulic Qel-Droma, Cay Qel-Droma and Duron Qel-Droma, the notable Jedi Knights who served during the Great Sith War. Her discovery in a cryogenicly frozen state in the Unknown Regions proved to be a moment that forced the Jedi Order to rewrite much of the early history of the Qel-Droma family.

Very little was known about Adena's life before she was recovered from the frozen pod that kept her alive for thousands of years, as many of the records from that time were lost. However, the minimal records kept by the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic citizen registry suggested that she was captured by her enemies and was killed as a martyr. Adena rebuked these statements, saying that she was captured as a political prisoner by then-Supreme Chancellor Fillorean. The Jedi High Council was not able to prove such an account, leading to some tension between them and Adena.

Adena Qel-Droma was created by Adena McDargh, a former Administrator and veteran role-player who has since retired on TheStarWarsRP.Com, during the early 1990s as a table top role-playing character for the Star Wars role-playing game. When McDargh began online role-playing, she used Adena as her main character and the character was able to evolve through various different storylines, especially on TheStarWarsRP.Com.

When Brandon Rhea decided to include Adena Qel-Droma in the Alternative Star Wars Saga, McDargh gave him her blessing to use the character as he saw fit with artistic and creative freedom, provided that Rhea stay true to the main spirit of the character. Rhea has made many story alterations to the character and much of what happens to her during the Chronicles of the Great War series did not happen during the role-plays.

In McDargh's version of the character during the role-plays, Adena was a lesbian and was involved in a relationship with Shara Qel-Droma, who took on the name after the two characters became married. The characters also had two adopted children in the role-play. In Rhea's version during the Chronicles of the Great War series, it is likely that the character's sexuality will not be greatly addressed due to strict rules regarding Slash fiction on many websites, including TheForce.Net. However, her sexuality may be alluded to without any official confirmation.

Adena is also the main character in a planned film trilogy written, directed and produced by McDargh. The trilogy focuses on McDargh's version of the character throughout the major parts of her life and it is planned to be entirely CG-animated based on the first timeline of TheStarWarsRP.Com. The first film, Star Wars: Legends I - Knights of the Nexus, is currently in pre-production. There are also plans for a fan fiction novel titled Star Wars: Ancient Order - Order of the Defiant to serve as a prequel to the Legends trilogy.
