Ade Osmeon (/ˈɑː.deɪ ˈɑːz.miːˌɑːn/) was a female Vimesk Centurion and Royal Guard of the Golden Empire.

Ade was born on Shel Du in 119 ABY. Too young to remember the First Battle of Shel Du, she was part of the first generation of Vimesk (and Selff) raised under the Empire's rule. By the time she was seven years, her parents had come to the conclusion that her oddly quick reflexes and uncanny ability to understand what people were feeling transcended the normal, and had her tested for Force-sensitivity by aPraetor-Recruiter of the Order of Keltrayu. When she determined that Ade was indeed Force-sensitive, the Osmeons allowed their daughter to join the Order.

Because of her willowy form and light bones, Ade was ill-suited to both Var Shek and the more brutal forms of lightsaber combat. Rin Sakaros and Te`net Organi both taught Ade Echani fighting techniques in place of Var Shek, and the young Vimesk chose to specialize in Ataru, developing speed and agility to compensate for her lack of overpowering strength. Ade also placed even more emphasis on telekinesis than the Centurion norm to allow herself to avoid physical combat altogether.

Ade grew up friends with Assayr, Vaiyani, and a number of other Novices, but her unique training needs meant she trained longer than many of her fellows. Like Baylis Scytha, she remained a Novice during The Tribulation, although she was commissioned shortly after in 144 ABY.

As a new Centurion, Ade followed the usual course of law enforcement assignments and investigations, though she also displayed early skills as a mediator in disputes on behalf of the Empire. As such, she worked with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Integration fairly often. When combat arose, Ade preferred to use the Force rather than her lightsaber unless absolutely necessary. She was among the Centurions assigned to diplomatic units in the former Vagaari Empire, and did not fight in the Nightmare War.

In 151 ABY, Rin appointed Ade and Baylis to her Royal Guard. The two served alongside Tarzg Sav'lir, who relentlessly trained them in a variety of close combat and protection skills, and Vos'elk'eetash, who was already a better swordswoman than either of them and forced them to constantly practice and hone their lightsaber skills. Ade rotated out of the Guard in 154 ABY.

Powers and abilities[]

Ade shared the proficiency of all Centurions in telepathy, but was considered by her comrades to be even more adept at telekinesis than the already-skillful norm; she put in extra practice to avoid physical combat. She was sufficiently skilled in Ataru to earn her commission, and improved beyond the Centurion average due to three years of practice with Tarzg, Selkee, and Baylis, as well as Rin Sakaros herself.

Appearance and personality[]

Thin and willowy in build, Ade was slender at 1.75 meters tall. Her skin was a vibrant shade of red, and she had dark brown hair and blue-green eyes. She carried a single, straight-hilt lightsaber with a maroon blade. Ade usually kept her four wings stretched out, though she tucked them closer to her body when she wished to remain inconspicuous.

Raised on Shel Du for the first seven years of her life, Ade initially shared her species' distrust of the Selff, although being raised for the rest of her life by the Order of Keltrayu eventually purged most of her unconscious bias.

Partly because of her comparative physical frailty, Ade initially disliked physical combat. While she continued to avoid it when possible as a Centurion, her instructors made her face her discomforts and learn to adapt to different threats to break her fear. She rarely went to battle to solve a dispute, but she was confident in her Force skills and unafraid to fight when it was unavoidable.

Behind the scenes[]

Ade's name came from Jade-Starrz horrifically typoing "made someone" on AOL Instant Messenger.
