Rise of the Empire eraRebellion era

The service I have rendered to the monarchy has been an enjoyable time, but now the final days of peace the Republic afforded the Galaxy draw to a close; and I fear for Naboo.
—Abroan Elrins account of the declaration of a New Order, and birth of the Galactic Empire.

Abroan Elrin was a native of the planet Naboo, and served in the Royal Naboo Security Force, who served in the force during the Battle of Naboo, the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War; in 4 ABY, he was killed following the attempt to overthrow the Imperial forces on Naboo, dying in defense of Queen Apailana.

Early years and the Battle of Naboo[]

Born in 62 BBY, Abroan Elrin was born in to a privileged background; with his father sitting on the Naboo Royal Council as law advisor. Abroan was educated in the finer arts, including in the fields of literature, sculpting and painting, as per his mothers direction and wishes. However, in 47 BBY at the age of 28, Abroan enlisted in the Royal Naboo Security Force, with both his father delighted, and his mothers grudging, endorsements. Despite the initial concern for a lack of firearms and discipline training, he proved exceedingly capable; with excelling grading's in both command, firearms accuracy and teamwork training scenarios, even being recommended by then lieutenant Quarsh Panaka to serve on the grounds of Theed Palace itself. The capable security officer served for several more years as a Corporal, before being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in the force, overseeing security for the Hangar and gardens of the palace, often overseeing anything from the grand and opulent open air balls of the Naboo Monarchy and upper class, to the safe guarding of N-1 Starfighters for the airwing, which was taking over from the aging predecessor the N-1L Light Starighter.

In 33 BBY, Lieutenant Elrin grew ever more concerned with the number of reports he received of Federation Scarab-class droid Starfighters escorting freighters in to Naboo's space, and in the time of the heated debates between the Trade Federation and the Republic Senate on the issue of Taxation for trade routes that Chancellor Finis Valorum had proposed, he believed it to be incursions in to Naboo space to probe their space, and advised rapid response times for any Trade Federation vessels that entered service, to discourage any further tests of strength. This request for a show of force was dismissed, and Lieutenant Elrin was severely reprimanded for his suggestion, reminding him of Naboo's commitments to peace. The Trade Federation probing of defenses continued, and a ever more restless Lieutenant Elrin continued to read reports of ever increasing number of fighters for an ever decreasing number of freighters.

In 32 BBY, the Trade Federation blockaded the planet to force the Senate to repeal the taxation of trade routes, however; the actual goal was the invasion of the planet, and occupation of Naboo, as orchestrated by the illusive Darth Sidious. Panic was kept at a minimal in the population, with a majority of Naboo citizens opting to remain calm, and put their faith in Queen Amidala, who had become a subject of division between many of Naboos citizens, some accusing her of remaining idle in a time of crisis, others siding with her for her dedication and service prior and during the days of the Blockade. Luitenant Elrin was otherwise undecided, and prioritized the security of the Palace, including the Hangar, and advised that the Queens J-type 327 Nubian royal starship be prepared for immediate take off, should the need for a speedy escape arise.

When the first waves of Trade Federation Landing craft arrived in the swamp lands miles from Theed, scouting parties of the RNSF reported this to their commanding officers, before all contact was lost. Lieutenant Elrin immediately began preparations for an evacuation of the Queen, who proved reluctant to depart knowing her people were in danger, insisting that the delegates sent by Chancellor Valorum would negotiate a settlement with the Trade Federation. Within hours the city of Theed was overrun, and the RNSF; woefully prepared for a large confrontation, surrendered to the masses of the Trade Federations battle droids. Despite Elrins initial despair, the discovery that the Queen had managed to evacuate thanks to the aid of Jedi knights comforted the Lieutenants concerns, though the lack of Governship, and the ruthless Trade Federations removal of opposition to their rule was less than comforting. Now under the command of Sio Bibble, then Governor of Naboo, there was little to be done aside from maintain the peace, or the illusion of peace, amongst the starving masses of Naboo, in both Theed and other cities and villages across the planet. Elrin was also one of the few who participated with Sio Bibble in a hunger strike, in an attempt to draw attention to the issue of starvation; this barely left an impression on Viceroy Nute Gunray, who openly mocked such actions.

Elrin himself was present during the Battle of Naboo, after being contact by Captain Panaka, who instructed him to gather who he could, and prepare to lay siege to the occupying Trade Federation occupation forces in Theed; complying with these orders, he assembled what men of the RNSF he could, and prepared to make a fight for the Hangar bay and the palace itself. Along with the small force of RNSF officers and repulsorcarft, including 2 Steadfasts, several V-19 Landspeeders and several Seraph-class urban landspeeder, a motley assortment of moderately to severely damaged vehicles, he hoped to have air-support from Harte-Secur airbase, unaware that the airbase had been leveled by an earlier attack on Harte Secur. Despite initial success in entering the grounds, and even managing to sneak past patrols in the grounds; they were eventually spotted, and forced to open fire, almost immediately loosing 2 V-19 Landspeeders and several security officers, though not without having downed a number of B-1 battledroids, and crippling an MTT. The motley force was forced to fall back, whilst sustaining additional losses, injuries and the loss of the remaining V-19 Landspeeders and the disabling of one of their 2 Steadfast armored vehicles; a wary Elrin became acutely aware of the severity of their situation, upon the discovery that they had no air support available to assist them on the ground, and when a number of Droidekas emerged from the palace grounds, this only confirmed his doubts in the feasibility of an advance towards the already secured Hangar bay.

With what fire-power that remained, and with the manpower he still possessed, a fight was made of the groups encirclement, with a number of Battledroids being disabled or outrightly destroyed. The group continued the fighting until the destruction of the Droid Control ship, which disabled the entirety of the droid occupation force. Elrin would later be in attendance at the Peace ceremony, whilst taking leave periodically throughout the event to supervise the removal of the remains of the battle, and the proper burial of those who had been killed in the fighting; whilst selling the remains of the Trade Federations battledroid army to numerous scrap merchants, which was met by great amounts of protest from the Trade Federation executive board, who insisted that their property be returned, to which times often explicit remarks were made regarding the Trade Federations hubris, shortly thereafter, the requests ceased.
