The 8th Marine Starfighter Squadron, callsign Hardnose, was a starfighter squadron attached to the Republic Marines' 3rd Marine Aerospace Wing. Throughout its operational history, the 8th tended toward assignments that saw them serving aboard capital ships serving in the Mid Rim region of Republic space. Like all Marine starfighter units, they were also assigned to outpost duty when the need arose.
