The 501st Special Operations Group was a Special Operation Group formed under the 501st Legion's Torrent Company of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars around 22 BBY under the command of General Anakin Skywalker and Clone Captain Rex.

Behind the scenesEdit
The 501st Special Operations Group was based off of the Special Op group known as Studies and Observations Group. The name was based off of the multiplayer faction, "S.O.G.", from the Treyarch video game: "Call of Duty: Black Ops"
