Commaner 039 (also known as 03 to his fellow SpecOps) was a member of Sith SpecOps during the Sith crusade. The closest thing 001 had to a friend, both 039 and 001 had been the closest of allies since the beginning of their training.

[edit] Life before the Sith
Life before the Sith was unpredictable for 039. Born on Rikori VI in the midst of a civil war between the government and the Rikori rebels, 039 found himself quickly being thrust into the midst of the conflict when he came of age.
Fortunately for him, on his sixteenth birthday, the Sith claimed Rikori VI as their own and invaded; destroying the government and installing the Rikori rebels as a puppet regime.
[edit] Chosen for SpecOps
Exactly two years later, while on a training program for the new Rikori army, 039 was greeted by a "…tall dark man with great horns petruding from his skull…" and informed that he had be chosen to join a special operations executive being set up by the Sith on the planet. Seeing his oppertunity to expand his powers and solidify his reputation he accepted. He was then welcomed aboard the dark mans spacecraft and introdudced to another that had been chosen, a human.
They became friends immediately, introducing themselves and sharing stories of how they had been found by the Sith and, upon their arrivial at their new home for the next five years choose to disobey a direct order from the Sith that had discovered them and shared quarters. Surprisingly, the Sith Knight didn't object.
While in training the two also made friends with another SpecOps trainee known only as Commander 113.
[edit] Posting on Yavin
At the outbreak of war in 58 ABY all fifty members of Sith SpecOps found themselves being withdrawn from certain areas of the training complex and slowly isolated from the galaxy. Determined to find out why both 039 and 001 broke out of the complex, hijacked a Sith transport vessel and headed for orbit. Unfortunately for them a Sith warship was in orbit at the time and they were quickly captured.
They were brought before the commanding officer of the complex who debaited executing them for breaking out, but he was stopped by the very same man who had discovered them years earlier. It was then that he revealed himself to be none-other than Darth Wyyrlok, personal assistant to the Dark Lord. He told them both that they had been isolated so as to limit their exposure to the coming war and that, following its fall, they would be stationed on Yavin IV to defend the planet.
And so, as promised three years earlier, both were among the SpecOps chosen to be stationed on Yavin IV after the moons capture in 61 ABY, 001 was placed in command, with 039 as his lieutenant.
[edit] The battle
As soon as they arrived 001 was ordered to the office of the moons commanding officer, Darth Dimicatio to receive orders; while 039 was ordered to aquaint himself with the complexes layouts. Unlike 001, 039 had no idea that the planet they were defending was key to the Sith cause.
And so he and 001 spent many months on the jungle moon doing nothing as they saw it, but "…guarding a few old pyramids that survived the Vong…" and guarding, as far as he was concerned, nothing at all. That was until a few days later.
During the closing stages of the Sith crusade in 62 ABY a Jedi Knight by the name of Ben Skywalker lead a force of six Jedi to infiltrate the Sith complex on Yavin IV. Their mission; to discover the importance of Yavin IV to the Sith.
Both 001 and 039 were among the first to engage the Jedi infiltrators, acheiving the first Jedi kill during the battle. They were later ordered to retreat when the Sith Knights arrived.
To their horror however, the soon dscovered that the Jedi had eliminated many of the Sith Knights and were making their escape. So, 001 ordered his SpecOps to pursue the retreating Jedi and eliminate them.
Many SpecOps lost their lives and 039 was greivously injured during the engagment—losing an arm that was later replaced— but the operation was a success. Three of the four total Jedi Knight kills had been thanks to the SpecOps and only eighteen SpecOps had lost their lives.
[edit] Promotion
Satisfied with the actions and bravery shown by the SpecOps Darth Abeonis granted 001 and 039 both promotions to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander. With these new powers and responsibilities 001 and 039 made it their mission to find, and eliminate the Jedi Knight that had led the infiltration of the facility and killed so many of their friends.
[edit] Death
During the fourth year of war, 039 was killed by Katae-muri during the battle of Praesitlyn. He died in 001's arms.
By this time his armour had taken on a brown'ish tint.
