Écparzi were a race of near-Gossams from the planet Écparz in the Expansion Region. During the Mandalorian Wars they were conquered in a battle that cost nearly a billion Écparzi lives. They once tried to invade the nearby Zexx homeworld of Prazhi but were beaten back in a horrible defeat. The Jedi Knight Nin Pzalmex was a half-Écparzi half-Gossam whose parents were slaves on Nal Hutta. Another Écparzi Jedi was Udzupra Maenї, T'un's first Jedi Master who was killed by the Prince of Korriban, a target of the assassin droid 3X-AK2R in 512 BBY. Most of their race was wiped out when the Empire bombed their homeworld in 11 BBY. As a result, many of the survivors later joined the Rebellion.
